Netherlands-based Stork IMM (Stork Plastic Machinery B.V.) has announced the opening of a new sales and service operation in the United Kingdom. The new European office, called Stork IMM UK, builds upon Stork IMM’s more than 20-year history in the U.K. The company manufactures injection molding machines ranging in size from 200 to 2,000 tons for high-speed packaging applications.

The expansion, conducted in partnership with Chudleigh Sutch UK Ltd., Stork IMM’s existing U.K. service and sales partner, is part of a broad strategy to support an ever-growing base of customers in Europe, according to Gert Boers, Stork IMM’s CEO.

“We see strong demand for packaging machines and an uptick in investment by plastics processors and end users,” said Boers. “With the establishment of domestic service, we’re now uniquely positioned to scale up and meet local needs while growing our business.”

Benjamin Sutch, Managing Director of Chudleigh Sutch, stated that Stork IMM UK will support the strong base of existing installed Stork IMM machines in the U.K. “Our sales and service operation located in Lewes, East Sussex, will ensure that our customers receive local support that meets their service, spare parts, and sales needs,” said Sutch. In the future, Stork IMM UK will also stock spare parts for rapid delivery to U.K.-based customers.

The U.K. expansion comes on the heels of the opening of a U.S. sales and service operation in Swedesboro, N.J. The new U.S. subsidiary, called Stork IMM USA LLC, builds upon Stork IMM’s 25-year history in the North American market.

Stork IMM builds robust, high-speed injection molding machinery which is a superior solution for the production of food-grade, thin-wall packaging made of polyolefins (PE and PP). Key applications include closures, tubs, containers, and cups along with flower pots, and paint pails and buckets.
